It has been said that women demand two things from their clothes; that they look pretty and look appropriate. From power belts to furry coats, the designers have spoken, and the verdict is in; Fall is conservative, which is both pretty and appropriate. But some designers, such as Marc Jacobs, have taken colors to their maximum this Fall. Their designs would be considered much less conservative than others. Fall is traditionally a time for more colors such as gold to appear in the trendy fashions of the year. For this reason, if you like a lot of color, the new fashions for Fall 2009 will probably have something just for you.
Leathers are a traditional long standing fashion statement. This Fall is no different. The “power belts” spoken of earlier may already be in your closet ! Since the economy is in such shambles this Fall, you may have been more willing to forego buying new and stick with the old. You are in luck. Those old leather jackets that are so warm in the cold wind and rain are in style this Fall ! Your retailer may not like the fact that you are not buying new this Fall, but your pocketbook will love you for it. If you are a biker chick, so much the better.
Fall is also full of those big chunky belts. In fact, you will not be able to get by without one, and stay in fashion. Some of the biggest names are wearing those big chunky belts this Fall. In other words, old is new. The chunky belts seemingly weave into and out of fashion quite regularly. So much the better if your chunky belt has dots. They are also “in” at this time. The new clothes of the season have big loose breeches and tight cinched waists. Most of the colors are dark, but there is a hint of bright red and pink, and sometimes neon green. Look forward to a conservative yet bright Fall.
