disappointing from all angles,
Other reviews have described how this book does not uncover we many of a collections of Dior or Yves St Laurent for 1962. So that was unsatisfactory to me.
But this book additionally fails to broach many in conditions of a photoessay. The photos were taken for an Esquire Magazine article, as good as judging from a image montage during a behind of a book, those photos would work good in small-size format with blurbs of text. Instead a book shows we grainy blow-ups, coffee-table book size, that destroy to reason their own when lengthened as good as left alone but text. There have been no concomitant blurbs of content subsequent to a photos, that would have been really helpful.
Instead (and this put me over a edge), SOME of a snapshots in a montage during a behind of a book have been numbered as good as since descriptors. So if we have been starting thru a book as good as wondering what a large print is about–and this happened to me often–you have to go acid in a behind for a image of it, find a number, afterwards find a descriptor. If there is a descriptor. Many photos in a book miss any descriptor, so we have been left wondering perpetually who a people have been as good as what a print is ostensible to be about. Frankly, no print book should ever do this to a readers.
If we have been a air blower of Jerry Schatzberg, we competence similar to this book. But we do not consider this book does probity to his photos.
